Abstract

489,778. Tins. FORTUNE, S. Feb. 5, 1937, No. 3522. [Class 66] The lid of a tin is provided with a recess 8, Figs. 2 and 3, formed with notches 8a, 8b, to accommodate in the operative and inoperative positions a cutter 4 adapted to cut a tagger or thin metal sealing diaphragm 2 disposed beneath a mouth-ring 3. The cutter is formed with a slot 7 to render it capable of a limited sliding movement to enable it to be turned into the operative position shown in Fig. 2 from the inoperative position shown in Fig. 3.
