[Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXV] Light-sensitive apparatus employed in correcting inaccurate movements of a screw - driven machine slide comprises a lever engaging the profile of a master thread and pivoted on the slide for example, so that any inaccuracy will turn the lever. A prism 17 thereon is tilted to cause a beam of light to impinge on one or other of two photo-electric cells 21, 22 which are faced with prisms 23, 24 directing the impinging beam towards the centre of the cell.
