Abstract

488,497. Kinematograph apparatus. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., BLAND, H. BARKER-, and OWEN, L. E. Jan. 7, 1937, No. 446. [Class 97 (i)] Intermittent feed mechanism comprises a film sprocket on a shaft 17, Fig. 1, driven through step-up gearing 9, 10 from a ratchet wheel 6 periodically rotated by a pawl 4 actuated by a cam mechanism. The pawl is carried on a pivoted arm 41 operated from a cam 1 by an arm 3. A second pawl 7 prevents backward movement. The gearing is such that the shaft 17 rotates twice for every revolution of the ratchet wheel and the sprocket is held in each position of rest by engagement of a spring-pressed hall with holes 12 in a disc 11 carried on the shaft 17, or by an adjustable friction brake. In the form shown in Fig. 3, a plurality of pawls 4 carried on a rotatable plate 42 are pressed by spring against the ratchet wheel 6.
