Abstract
488,160. Conveyers. SCHWABACH, M. C. G. Jan. 3, 1938, No. 76. [Class 78 (i)] In a method of collecting and quenching coarse and fine furnace residues, the coarse residues drop from the rear end of the grate 2 through the hopper 3 into the water trough 5 while the fine ashes, &c. pass through the gaps between the stoker links and hoppers 17, or a single hopper, on to a screw or other conveyer 18 which carries them to the trough. Soot and grit deposited in the rear flue 6 and economizer 7 are collected in the receptacle 8 and flushed at intervals through the pipe 9 into the trough. An endless conveyer band, or a bladed wheel, conveys the residues through the trough and delivers them on to a conveyer 26. Specification 251,255, [Class 51 (i)], is referred to.
