Abstract
488,143. Safety razors. WAKEFORD, A. J. Sept. 18, 1937, No. 25340. Addition to 471,884. [Class 30] In razors having selfcontained shaving- cream ejector devices as described in the parent Specification, the ejection from a chamber A is effected by means of a plunger F<1> pressed by a spiral spring D. A rod F carried by the plunger is guided by a tube H which is slotted to admit a headed screw E by means of which the plunger may be clamped in any position. A plate D<1> at the top of the spring is in contact with the screw. An outlet x in the head screw 0 leads to a chamber enclosed by the guard plate M and a plate N, whence passages C lead to the edges of the blade. Part L of the guard, Fig. 12, may be pivoted and pressed by springs K to close the passage C, which, however, is opened whenever the part L is pressed against the face ; or the whole of the blade holder may be mounted on springs so that when the latter yield during shaving the passages C are opened.
