486,529. Valves. CRESSWELL, A. L., and FABIAN, G. W. Dec. 4, 1936, No. 33246. [Class 135] Relates to a device for permitting temporary removal of a tap d from a source of liquid supply for the purpose of effecting repairs or replacement. The device is of the type comprising a tubular member a threaded for adaptation to existing taps and pipe-lines, and containing a valve j, an abutment l projecting from the valve being adapted to be engaged by the threaded end b of the tap for normally holding the valve off its seating. According to the invention, the tubular member a has a partition h between its ends, in which partition the valve stem k is supported, the partition comprising a seating for the valve, so that the valve abuts against the partition to cut off the supply of liquid when the tap is removed. The partition h may be adjustably screw-threaded inside the tubular member a.
