485,779. Tractors ; driving-gearing. COLES, C. C. Jan. 29, 1937, No. 2629. [Classes 79 (i) and 79 (ii)] In a motor tractor of short wheel base, the gear-box 4 is disposed near the rear axle 13, the transmission shaft 8 is disposed above the rear axle and extends beyond the rear of the chassis for use as a power take-off, to the transmission shaft and driven therefrom bv pinion and spur wheel gearing 11, 12. The transmission shaft 8 is rotatable in ball bearings on spaced members 10 of the chassis. The tractor may support and drive the grass-cutting attachment described in Specification 485,778, [Group I].
