482,937. Bottle and like capsules. AKTIEBOLAGET ALKA ALUMINIUMKAPSLAR. Dec. 3, 1937, No. 33533. Convention date, Dec. 3, 1936. [Class 125 (iii)] In a cap closure for a bottle or like container the rim 1 round the mouth of the bottle and the cap 3 are given a convexity. The convex shape is imparted to the cap before or during the capping operation, and is similar to that shape which would be produced by overpressure in the bottle. The cap has packing 5 which makes contact with a large part of the rim 1. The skirt 4 of the cap is pressed into the groove 8 by means of an elastic ring while the cap is pressed hard against the bottle mouth. The convexity of the cap 3 terminates at the sealing edge 2 and the vertical height of the top of the cap above this edge 2 is about equal to the radius of the opening of the container. The cap may be removed by being slit and may be provided with a tearing tab.
