Abstract

481,463. Tipping brackets. ROBERTS, F. T. March 12, 1937, No. 7280. [Class 52 (v)] In folding brackets comprising two members 1, 2 connected by a pivot 9 which is slidable from a position in which pivoting movement is permitted to a position of use in which the members are held against pivoting move. ment, the members are oj right - angle or channel section and one member 2 has a flat part and a slot 10 adapted to slide over a flange or platform 6 and under a tongue 7 respectively on the other member to relieve the pivot of strain. The base member 1 secured to the wall &c. 3 by its flange 1a has a horizontal slot 8 and is bent at its upper edge to form the flange 6 and tongue 7 projecting horizontally in opposite direction. The tipping member 2 secured to the underside of the shelf &c. 4 has a pivot pin 9 slidable in the slot 8, a turned-over part 11 and a slot 10. To raise the shelf &c. from the position shown, it is swung upwards about the pivot 9 to a horizontal position and then pushed rearwardly so that the turned-over part 11 and slot 10 engage the flange 6 and tongue 7 respectively. The member 2 may be secured to the wall and the member 1 carry the shelf &c.
