Abstract

480,649. Gyratory crushers. TRIGGS, W. W. (Traylor Engineering & Manufacturing Co.) Aug. 16, 1937, No. 22444. [Class 59] In a gyratory crusher the space between the concave and its liner or between the crusher head and its liner is non-circular in crosssection so that relative movement between the members causes a compressive action on the filling material in these spaces. As shown the concave liner 9 is centralized by engaging in a recess 11 of the base and the top shell 7 engages in a recess 14 the space between the concave and-shell being filled with molten zinc &c. 10. The external circumferential surface of the concave and corresponding internal surface of the shell are irregular in shape and generally polygonal in transverse cross-section such that as the concave tends to rotate in crushing the concave is self-tightening. The concave may be made in sections and the mantle 3 may be secured on the crushing head 2 in a similar manner. Specification 375,520 is referred to.
