480,174. Coke ovens. KOPPERS CO. OF DELAWARE. Aug. 17, 1936, No. 22628. Convention date, Aug. 17, 1935. Addition to 477.962. Drawings to Specification. [Class 51 (ii)] In the coke-oven battery described in the parent Specification arrangements are provided by which the air supply to the regeneratorscan be drawn from another source, e.g. the' side alleyways of the battery, as well as from the basement space of the substructure. By reducing the amount of air supplied through the basement space the temperature therein in cold weather can be maintained above that at which condensates will be deposited in the gas supply pipes. The inlets for the additional air may be on the flow-reversing boxes of the parent Specification and may be controlled by valves connected up to the usual reversing- mechanism.
