Abstract

478,001. Electron multipliers. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and BANKS, G. B. July 13, 1936, No. 19455. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] The primary electrons in a multiplier are emitted by a radio-active material. In one form, a uranium salt is applied to one or both plates of an opposed plate, repeated impact magnetically-focused multiplier connected in an oscillation generator circuit. The plates may be of molybdenum coated with lithiumborate which is stated to be a good secondary emitter exhibiting no photoelectric or thermionic emission at ordinary temperatures. The uranium salt need not be placed upon. the plates.
