Abstract
476,804. Electric incandescent lamp filaments. BERGER, W. June 11, 1936, No. 16353. Convention date, June 11, 1935. [Class 39 (ii)] A filament of refractory metal for electric incandescent lamps consists of a coiled coil in which the cross-section of the primary coil at right-angles to its axis is non-circular. Preferably the section of the primary coil is of narrow elongated form, obtained by winding the coil upon a mandrel in the form of a flat band or ribbon. In an example the cross-section of the primary mandrel is a rectangle having one side about ten times the length of the other, while the secondary mandrel upon which the primary coil is wound is of circular cross-section. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 461,315.
