Abstract
476,111. Making tubes. MORTON & CO., Ltd., R., and ROBINSON, P. D. May 29, 1936, No. 15156. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] [Also in Groups XIII and XXVIII] Drawing.-A stainless steel heat-exchange tube particularly for milk coolers is formed with a liner or casing of copper. The liner may be applied to the tube by gripping the flattened ends of the liner and the tube in the carrier 9, Fig. 4, of a drawbench and drawing them between fixed dies 6, 7. The casing may be applied by drawing the parts through the die 6, the die 7 being dispensed with. A copperlined tube of the form shown in Fig. 3 may be made by drawing a preshaped stainless steel tube and a copper liner 5 between fixed dies 6, 11, Fig. 6, having a section corresponding with that of the tube. Specifications 339,869, 339,870, [both in Class 64 (iii)], 413,947, [Group XIII], and 476,112 are referred to.
