474,844. Closures for petrol tanks. WESTWOOD, S. C., and WESTWOOD, H. B. June 26, 1936, No. 17782. [Class 125 (iii)] A closure cap for petrol tanks &c. comprises a main sheet metal part a having lugs d which engage under the out-turned edge of the filling neck c and which pass through notches f therein to form a bayonet-joint engagement therewith. A rubber sealing washer h is secured to the part a. Outside a thin metal, e.g. brass cover k having a reinforcing piece p, is spun over the flange of the part a thus forming a trap for liquid. A vent is provided in the outer cap. The part a is slightly increased in diameter at g.
