Abstract
474,367. Furniture frames. ANDREWS, E. S. (Singer, F.) March 30, 1936, No. 9413. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] A chair, table, or like article of furniture of cantilever form has the supporting frame built of plywood parts with the planes of the plies arranged vertically. Fig. 1 shows a chair consisting of two crossing U-shaped parts 1, 2, each with a foot-forming part 3 and a seatsupporting part 4, cut out of plywood and notched to interengage at 7, 8 ; it is completed by a plywood back 10, seat 9, and arms 11. Fig. 3 shows a table consisting of U-shaped parts 14, set in V-form, with a top 13 and a stabilizing member 16. The plywood may be reinforced at the notches 7, 8 by metal plates. The articles may be nested with the horizontal parts 11, 9 or 13 of one article resting on the corresponding parts of the article underneath. Specification 279,574, [Class 52 (v)], is referred to.
