Abstract

474,207. Animal traps. KNAPP, D. R. April 5, 1937, No. 9619. [Class 5 (i)] A noose trap comprises a base 1 having slotted leaf springs 3 adapted to receive two curved members 15 pivoted to the base and each connected by a chain 19 having a loop 20 adapted to encircle the other member 15. When the trap is set, as shown in Fig. 1, the springs 3 are held down by the bent ends 12, 13 of a setting lever 11, the end 13 engaging the hooked end of a trigger lever 6 secured to a bait pan 7 and mounted on a post 5 secured to the base 1. When the animal treads on the pan, the springs cause the members 15 to move upwardly, as shown in Fig. 2, and the noose to be tightened around the animal's leg.
