470,307. Dredging. JACKSON, L. MELLERSH-. (Perry, O. B.) Sept. 3, 1936, No. 24130. [Class 68 (i)] The slack side of the bucket chain of a dredger is supported intermediate the ends of the bucket ladder 11 by a wheel 19 with a concave periphery corresponding to the contour of the buckets, and carried by a frame 18 built up of yokes 26, 27, and side plates 28 reinforced at the edges by angle irons. Packings 34 protect the bearings of the wheel. Inclined wear plates 39 limit lateral movement of the bucket chain and are supported by members 41 acting as ties for the yokes 26, 27, shims 42 facilitating adjustment of the plates 39. Further wear plates 43 are provided below the bucket ladder. The wheel is provided with replaceable facing segments 37, and the frame 18 with metal-faced wood chafing beams 49.
