[Class 16] A book, of the type in which records or the like are entered in or mounted on individual ledger or record sheets and the sheets are subsequently assembled to form the book, comprises in combination a loose-leaf binder for detachably securing the sheets together and a plurality of record sheets, adhesive means being provided on the binder or record sheets, or both, so that, after the records have been entered on the sheets, they may be permanently secured to each other, or the binder, or both. The binder comprises semi-stiff sheets 6, 7, a collapsable back 5, and stiff covers 10, 11 provided with hinged metal strips 12, 15 carrying binding thongs 13 and clamping means respectively. As the sheets 1, which are provided with a strip of adhesive 2 and binding holes 3, are completed they are returned to the binder and engaged by the straps 13 and stuck one by one to the surface 9 and to each other. The binder may be of the ring or post type and the sheets may be provided with notches instead of holes. When the binder is full the covers 10, 11 may be removed, the sheets trimmed at the edges, and flexible members sealed to a permanent binder or cover may be passed through the holes 3 or additional holes, or the assembly may be stitched with wire or thread or secured by bent-over nails. In a modification, the binder may comprise, in addition to rings or other binding means, bound-in stubs which may carry adhesive as well as or instead of the sheets 1. The adhesive employed may be a rubber solution, which cannot be softened by ordinary solvents, or ordinary gum or glue.
