Abstract

468,866. Windscreen-cleaners. DUDLEY, W. March 14, 1936, No. 7702. [Class 138 (i)] A windscreen-cleaner as described in Specification 337,700, [Class 138 (i)], in which the pressure of the wiper on the screen is limited by rollers provided one at each end of the wiper blade is modified in that the rollers are mounted on an axis or on axes inclined to the edge of the blade so as to be adapted to roll in substantially concentric arcuate paths over the surface of the screen when the blade is oscillated angularly. As shown, the rollers 5, 6 are of conical form and the axes of the rollers intersect the plane of the screen at a point C on the axis of oscillation of the wiper. In a modification, the rollers 5, 6,. are on a common axis, the roller 5 being smaller than the roller 6. The rollers may have their peripheries grooved circumferentially.
