Abstract

465,537. Diamond tools. JEARUM, F. C. Jan. 20, 1936, No. 1760. [Class 124] The diamond 21 has its lower face made conical and seating in a corresponding recess in a part spherical shaped member 23 held in a socket in the tool 24. The pin 26 enters a slot 25 in the member 23 to guide it. The diamond is held in its seating by the plate 5 which is adjusted by the screw 7 and the taper pin 6. In a modification the diamond has a recess on its flat underface to receive a projection on the member 23. The cap 5 is adjustable transversely by two set screws which enable the cap to be tilted. In a further modification the corners of a polygonal diamond are received in a spring pressed nest plate situated in a recess in the upper surface of the member 24.
