[Class 137] Centrifugal fans 108 driven by a motor 100 draw air through an inlet 29, louvres 32, filter 30, and rear chamber 81 of a casing 10, and discharge the air into the room in a direction controlled by the angular position of louvres 44 in the front wall opening 40, and of a louvre plate 64 in the upper wall 26. The fans draw in air through inlets 90 from chambers 81, and, under control of a damper 115, operated by an external lever 117, discharge it into an outlet chamber 82, on the walls of which are situated the outlet louvres. The chambers are separated by a partition 80. The louvres 44 are arranged in two adjacent groups, and are pivotally mounted at each end, each group being connected by a link 51 which is pivotally connected to flanges 50 on the louvres, both groups being simultaneously operated by a lever 54 to direct the outgoing air either upwardly or downwardly, or to close the opening. The plate 64, when opened, directs the air upwardly and rearwardly. The speed of the fans is controlled by a rheostat 110 regulated by a knob 113. The device is divided into three separable units, Fig. 9, to facilitate manufacture or repair, and these comprise the back and bottom walls 23, 24, a member 93, Fig. 4, on which is mounted the blowers and partition 80, and a cover constituted by the front, top and end walls 25, 26, 27, 28, and secured by screws 78 to the bottom wall.
