[Class 40 (v)] In a wireless directional receiver having its sensitivity varied in synchronism with the periodic transmission of signals from the transmitter so as not to respond to reflected signals, the synchronism is effected by a local source adjustable as'regards amplitude, phase, and frequency. In the arrangement shown, a valve V of the receiver is normally blocked by a biassing battery VG, but is periodically rendered operative for short periods by voltages applied from a relaxation oscillator O, G. To obtain synchronism, the frequency of the control is adjusted by varying elements R1, C2 until the local frequency no longer beats with the incoming signal frequency, and the two are then brought into phase agreement by adjustment of the tapping P. Resistance R4 serves for amplitude adjustment.
