460,229. Sliding seats for vehicles. LOVELAND, L. July 24, 1935, No. 20998. [Class 52 (ii)] A sliding seat for vehicles is mounted on guides shaped in such a manner that the rear of the seat is raised or lowered when the seat is moved forwardly or rearwardly respectively. Fig. 2 shows the substructure of a vehicle seat, including a seat-back, which is secured to angle-pieces 5 or a frame movable by means of rollers in lugs 6 on arched trackways 1, in which they are set by a spring latch 8. In a modification, Fig. 4, the seat-back 24 is secured to a sliding frame 13, and the seat proper 27 is secured to a frame 18 pivoted at 16a to the frame 13. The rear end of the seat frame 18 is fitted with rollers 19 which ride on curved ways 20. The frame 13 is set by a spring latch 25. The rollers may be replaced by blocks, and may be adapted to tubular-frame seats. In another form, the trackways are largely horizontal, but curve downwards at their rear ends.
