Abstract

460,073. Packeting. WILSON, H. A. March 3, 1936, No. 6401. [Class 94 (i)] A device for consolidating finely powdered materials in receptacles comprises a platform g for the receptacle formed on a piston h, vertically slidable in a body part a. A renewable abutment piece j, having a curved surface abruptly terminated by a vertical surface k co-operates with a cam d, having a node l terminated by an opposed vertical surface m, to raise the piston and platform and allow them to fall suddenly. The under surface of the platform and the upper surface of a flange b of the body are machined flat to provide a close contact, and a pin i prevents relative rotation. The lower part of the body acts as an oil well. The shaft c may be common to a number of cams, and each cam may be formed with a number of nodes.
