[Class 89 (ii)] [See also Group XXX] An attachment for connecting a ring h on the belt of a skier to a towing rope includes a hook e which is pivoted at e<1> to a handle f, and normally is held in the position shown in full lines by a spring i. A handle d is pivoted at d<1> to the handle f, and carries a stud d<2> which when the handles are brought together by the grip of the skier against the resistance of the spring g is brought into engagement with the tail of the hook and prevents its movement. If the skier stumbles during towing, the release of the handles will free the hook, and the ring is released.
