[Class 100 (iv)] Platen-rotation for blanking.-A platenhandle can be moved from normal or inoperative position, in which it does not interfere with the travel of the carriage, into operative position. The handle h shown in the Figure is pivoted on a pin g arranged in a slot formed in a sleeve c secured to the platen-shaft b, a spring j maintaining the handle in the normal position shown. When it is required to rotate the platen, the handle is moved into a position at right-angles to that shown. The spring may be supplemented by a spring-pressed sleeve mounted on the sleeve c. In an alternative arrangement, the handle can slide radially to the platen-knob.
