Abstract
457,234. Windings for dynamo-electric machines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Jan. 6, 1936, No. 480. Convention date, Jan. 7, 1935. [Class 35] A multi-bar winding for an alternating-current dynamo-electric machine comprises an odd number of bars per slot, pairs of adjacent superposed bars being connected to form one or more two-layer windings and the remaining single bars to form a single layer winding. As shown, the inner bars 1, 2 form a twolayer winding A, and the outer bars 3 which project a greater distance from the slots constitute a single layer winding B. In the case of a winding having five bars per slot, the four inner bars are in two two-layer windings. The end connectors are stepped as shown to facilitate cooling.
