455,698. Gear-wheel engines. TACCONI, G., 62, Via di Rifredi, Florence, Italy. Jan. 17, 1935, Nos. 1589 and 1590. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 19, 1935]. [Class 110 (ii)] Gear-wheels p, q having one or more teeth t, u and recesses t<1>, u<1> act as a compressor to supply fuel gas through a valve 12 to an engine having gears 16, 17. The gears p, q and 16, 17 are geared externally, and to the gear 21 which drives a cam 20 to actuate the valve 12. In a modified arrangement the gear compressor and gear engine are in separate casings. The inlet valve to the compressor is controlled by pressure in the carburetter pipe outside a rotary inlet valve leading to the engine. The compressor may be in the form of two pistons in one cylinder which reciprocate towards and away from one another. In a further arrangement, a rotor is provided with pockets which form combustion chambers and feed the engine. Multi-stage engines may be used, and steam or other working-fluids used.
