[Class 12 (i)] [See also Group V] A bearing comprises an outer ring d, and an inner ring a which is secured to a shaft and has a coating c of artificial resin. To secure the coating c to the ring a the latter has ribs b, the sides of which are grooved. When making, the rings a, d are concentrically arranged and the resin lining c is pressed in between the parts. On cooling, the lining shrinks and forms a bearing clearance k. If the thickness f of the lining c is considerable the clearance k will decrease as the bearing warms up in operation. The bearing surface between the parts c, d may be cylindrical or spherical.
