454,401. Ratchet gearing. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES., 1, Holstrasse, Zug, Switzerland. Oct. 1, 1935, No. 27053. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1934. [Class 80 (iii)] In resonance-spring driving mechanism in which a toothed driving wheel 2 is actuated in a step-by-step manner by a resonance spring 1, the teeth of the wheel have broad or blunt end surfaces 4, and side faces 6 which are substantially at right angles to that part of the resonance spring which engages them and, if produced, would be tangential to a circle 7 of a diameter substantially one quarter of that of the wheel. The spaces 5 between the teeth are deep and roomy. The wheel may be of metal, but is preferably of hard paper, fibre or similar material.
