Abstract

453,154. Thermionic cathodes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and GOODCHILD, F. D., 63, Aldwych, London. March 6, 1935, No. 7041. [Class 39 (i)] The heater for an indirectly heated cathode is formed by insulating lengths of wire with say aluminium oxide and then placing two or more wires c, d, parallel to each other and coating them again so that the finished heater is formed of parallel wires encased in insulation. The wires may be bent and inserted as a block into the cathode body. Dimensions of one example are given. They are connected together to make a continuous heating circuit.
