Abstract
420,798. Electric radiators. FROST & CO., Ltd., H., and MOSS, A. W., 35, Fieldgate, Walsall. July 21, 1934, No. 21373. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric radiator comprises an outer metal frame 3 surrounding the usual fireclay bar 4 on which the heating element 5 is wound. An openfronted metal box 6 is built into the surround 2 to receive the radiator, the two being connected by a plug and socket connection 8, 9 and a screw 7. The socket 8 is insulated by washers 12 and receives the mains lead 13. The pin 9 is similarly insulated and connected to a conductor 16 which supplies the heating element. The construction avoids the use of rubbercovered wires passing through the box 6 to the heating element. In an alternative, the plug-in connections form the sole means of attaching the frame 3 to the casing 6, and are inclined to prevent accidental detachment.
