[Class 35] Apparatus for magnetic treatment of ferrous articles such as steel tools comprises two pot-shaped electromagnets arranged mouth to mouth, with a central core passing through the article to be treated. In the form shown, the ring 6 to be de-magnetized rests on the spacer 7 on the central core 3 and a ring 8 of dimensions appropriate to those of the body 6, in conjunction with the nut 13, holds the alternating-current energized electromagnets 1, 10 in spaced relationship. The coils are in fluid tight enclosures formed by welded on covers 15, 23.
