Abstract
451,018. Collars for personal wear. SMITH, C. G., LLOYD, J. H., and LLOYD, W. J., 28, Wood Street, London. Nov. 7, 1935, No. 30796. [Class 141] A multi - ply collar for personal wear comprises an outer facing strip 8 which extends continuously through the combined depths of the collar band and top, reinforcing strips 9, 10 contained in the collar band and top, and inner lining strips 12, 13, the reinforcement and lining strips 9, 12 overlapping the strips 10, 13 to form a fold line, and the outer facing strip being united by adhesive, after making up the collar, to the adjacent reinforcing strips. In a modification, the reinforcing strips 9, 10 are replaced by a single strip extending through the combined depths of the collar band and top, the fold line being determined solely by the overlapping of the inner lining strips. The reinforcing strip or each of such strips is formed preferably with strands of cellulose derivative woven thereinto. Specification 419,208 is referred to.
