450,277. Pipe joints. NORMAN, J. W. E., Woodlands, Challock, Kent. May 23, 1935, No. 15043. [Class 99 (i)] [See also Groups I and X] In cesspits, intercepting, inspection, and like vertical chambers formed of pre - cast concrete sections, the joints are formed by means of complementary stepped interlocking faces formed on abutting top and bottom ends of the sections and an internal sealing-ring is provided at the joint line between the sections ; the arrangement is such that the sealing-ring groove is disposed symmetrically about the joint line between adjacent sections, and the upper and lower walls of the groove are shaped to provide keying surfaces for the sealing-ring. The interlocking faces may be formed as shown in Figs. 2 or 3 and the groove 8 may be undercut as shown or have halfround-annular channels in opposed faces.
