[Class 145 (i)] In a rotary grooving or like head for woodworking machinery wherein the cutting width is adjusted by rotating one or more cutters so as to vary the angle of inclination of the cutter in relation to the direction of its cutting movement, said rotational adjustment is effected by means of a screw-threaded member accessible for rotation from outside the head. Each cutter 14, 16, Fig. 1 of flat strip is secured by a set screw 38 in a slot in a holder 23, outward displacement of the cutter being prevented by a pin 37 engaging a notch in the blade ; the holder 23 is cylindrical, and housed in a bore 24 in the cutter block 10 ; the holder has wormteeth 28 engaged by a worm located by a grub screw 32 ; the worm can be rotated to effect the rotational adjustment of the blade. The holders 23 of the cutters 13, 15 are not screwadjusted, but are locked in adjusted position by screw 35 having a conical head engaging a circumferential groove in the holder. A modified form of cutter, Fig. 6, has three cutting edges 42, 43, 44. According to a modification described in the Provisional Specification, adjustment of the cutter is effected by grub screws bearing on the faces of the cutter which is mounted in the slotted end of a fulcrum pin housed in the cutter block.
