Abstract
449,441. Tables &c. VAUGHAN, E., Field House, Clent, near Stourbridge, Worcestershire. Nov. 26, 1935, No. 32715. [Class 52 (iii)] In a folding ironing-board, table, bench, &c. the leg parts 15, 17, which are stayed by links 26, 28, are connected by a pivot 18, and kept rigid in line by a spring latch pin 20. This being removed, the part 17 may be turned on the part 15, which is turned towards the part 1 and away from the legs 5, causing the links 26 to turn the legs 5 in the same direction as the legs 15. To enable the leg structures to fold flat, the parts are proportioned so that the sums of the distances between the pivots 6, 18 are equal whether taken at the pivot 27, the pivot 14, or the pivot 29. As shown, the parts are made of bent metal. Non-slip pads 31, 33 are fitted.
