Abstract

448,580. Slide and shell containers. CHALMERS, J. W., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd., 2, Evelyn Street, Deptford, London. April 26, 1935, No. 12567. [Class 18] The slide comprises two equal compartments 7, 8 each swingable about an axis 9 transverse to the shell throughway and having their open ends directed towards one another. Their side panels 10 may be cut away at 12 to facilitate their easy insertion into the shell 6, whilst the broad faces of the compartments may be cut away to facilitate access to the contents, such as tobacco cartridges. A foil or other wrapper 14 may extend around two sides and one end face of such batch of cartridges, and have upstanding separating portions 15, which may be gripped to withdraw the contents. Alternatively, or in addition, slots 16, Fig. 4, connected at their terminating points by score lines, may be provided to facilitate folding of the compartments. The cartridges may be parallel to the open ends of the compartments. The shell may be block ended and the slide be furnished with projecting finger holds. According to the Provisional Specification, the compartments may be made from a continuous blank, and the cartridges may have cylindrical cellulose wrappings.
