[Class 44] [See also Group XVII] A fastening particularly applicable to dressing cases or boxes comprises a bolt e<1> slidable in a cylindrical casing g<1> housed in the box lid and adapted to enter an aperture in an upstanding stud f<1> mounted on the upper edge of the box body and entering a recess in the lid when the box is closed. The bolt is operable by a terminal knob e and is retained in shot position by an approximately semi-cylindrical spring togue g<5> formed from the wall of the casing g<1> by longitudinal slots g<2>, g<3> and a transverse slot so as to embrace the bolt, a projection g<6> across the tongue engaging a groove in the bolt. A pin e<3> on the bolt slides in slot g<2> and limits the bolt movement. As described, the dressing case a has a hinged front b which can be turned down to give access to trays &c. containing cosmetics &c. and carries the studs f<1> and a key-lock of ordinary type. The case is shown enclosed in a flexible cover h the lid portion h<1> of which can be pulled down into place over lid c only when the bolt knobs e are pressed home to locking position.
