Abstract
446,970. Enamels and glazes. SUR, M. M., 65, Serpentine Lane, Calcutta, India. Nov. 6, 1934, No. 31857. [Class 56] A leadless vitreous composition or frit, for the production of signs, decorations, or the like by stencilling, is composed of 48-50 parts by weight of silica, 4-6 parts of titanium dioxide, 7-9 parts of alumina, 10-12 parts of barium oxide, 2-4 parts of magnesium oxide or calcium oxide or both together, 9-11 parts of potassium oxide, 4-6 parts of sodium oxide, and 6-9 parts of boron trioxide. Zinc oxide may be used instead of barium oxide, and part of the potassium oxide may be replaced by sodium oxide, or vice versa. Any suitable colouring oxide may be added as desired.
