Abstract

443,433. Vehicle spring-suspensions; springs. BETBEDER, F. F., Vlakspruit, Platrand, Transvaal, South Africa. Aug. 27, 1934, No. 24623. [Classes 108 (ii) and 108 (iii)] Vehicle laminated suspension springs are provided with attachments designed to damp the rebound and deflections and comprises two strip springs clamped to the laminated spring. The strip springs are of the shape shown in Fig. 3, and are provided at their ends with bifurcations or projections 12 adapted to prevent sideways movement on the laminated spring 2. A loop 11 is formed as shown and if necessary a secondary leaf 13, 14 with a similar loop is provided and the whole clamped to the laminated spring by a U-bolt having a roller 17, Fig. 8, and a cross piece 18 with flanges 19, 20 having bevelled portions 21 to accommodate various widths of laminated springs. Two strip springs are disposed as shown on each suspension spring 2.
