Abstract

440,577. Optical systems. BAIRD, J. L., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., 58, Victoria Street, Westminster. Sept. 5, 1934, No. 25551. [Class 97 (i)] A condenser lens system for a kinematograph projector comprises a first lens 3 which forms an image of the light source 1 in the plane of a second lens 4 ; the lens 4 forms an image of the lens 3 in a plane 5 adjacent a third lens 6 and the lens 6 forms an image of the image 5 on the projector lens or lenses 7. The film-gate 8 is in proximity to the lens 6 and between this lens and the lens 7. Where the lens 7 comprises relatively movable parts, as in Specification 432,635, the image formed by the lens 6 is of such an area as to cover the whole of the lens 7 in all of the positions of its parts. The light source 1 is provided with a condensing reflector 2. Specification 439,434 also is referred to.
