Abstract

440,431. Agitating pulp in papermaking machines. RUSSELL, D., Rothes House, Markinch, Fife. June 28, 1934, No. 19080. [Class 96] An agitator 4, 5, partly or wholly immersed in pulp substantially where it flows on to the wirecloth 3 of a paper-making machine, comprises rotating oblique discs 5 on a spindle or spindles 4. The discs 5 may be perforate or have excrescences. The discs of two or more spindles may interpenetrate and may rotate in opposite directions. The agitator may be between the breast roll 6 and the slices. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 145,845, [Class 96], and 426,070.
