Abstract

184,477. Alctiebolaget Karlstads Mekaniska Verkstad. Aug. 13, 1921, [Convention date]. Suction apparatus.- The suction-box of a paper-making machine or pulp-drying machine contains one or more rollers which are formed with circumferential or other grooves or with perforations so arranged that the suction is effective over substantially the whole eurface of the rollers. When a single roller is employed, the upper edges 7, Fig. 4, of the suction-box extend close up to the roller as shown, thus restricting the suction to the part of the wire cloth bearing on the roller. When three rollers are used, filling-pieces 14, Fig. 3, may be arranged between them. The suction-box may be adjustable angularly so that the roller or rollers therein serve as guide or regulating rollers.
