Abstract
439,153. Discharge apparatus. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. May 21, 1935, No. 14826. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1934. [Class 39 (i)] A self-supporting grid for electric discharge tubes comprises two or more helical wires secured to each other at some or all of the intersecting points, for example, by welding or the like. Two oppositely wound single helices 1, 2, Fig. 2, developed view, or two oppositely wound double helices 4, 5, Fig. 3, or a single and an opposed double helix, Fig. 4 (not shown), may be employed. The ends of the grid may be secured in an annular support 10, Fig. 6, having a groove 12 for the reception of the grid wires.
