Abstract

438,989. Television. BAIRD, J. L., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., 58, Victoria Street, Westminster. Sept. 8, 1934, No. 25879. [Class 40 (iii)] A television receiving arrangement includes a lens arranged to project an image of the reconstituted picture and a second lens coincident with the image produced by the first lens and positioned to form an image of the first lens. The arrangement may be utilized in a cathode-ray receiver or, as shown in the Figure, in a mechanical scanning system in which a plano-convex cylindrical lens 3 is located at the position occupied by the image of the picture reconstituted by the mirror drum 1 and projected by a lens 2 of large aperture. The plano-convex cylindrical lens 3 may be replaced by a lens combination including spherical and cylindrical components and a translucent screen may be introduced between the lenses 2, 3 and located adjacent the lens 3. The field of useful vision may be confined to a horizontal band.
