438,844. Railway wheels. CORTS, G. F. A., 25V, Berzeliigatan, Gothenburg, Sweden. March 23, 1935, Nos. 9139 and 9140. Convention dates, March 27, 1934 and June 6, 1934. [Class 144 (i)] In railway wheels of the kind having treads formed with annular ribs such as 8, 9 separated by grooves 10, 11, the inner flank 17 of the innermost groove 10 is inclined at an acute angle to the tread; the width of this groove at the tread surface is about a quarter of the total width of the tread ; and, the base 18 of the groove is approximately parallel to the tread surface. The flank 17 may be of convex form, and may extend over half the width of the groove. Specification 411,765 is referred to.
