Abstract
436,492. Pumps. BRIGGS, E. R., The Mound, Lawford Road, Rugby. Jan. 28, 1935, No. 2735. [Class 7 (ii)] Scavenging and charging air is provided by a blower 1 which, during normal running, is driven by a turbine 2 using exhaust gases ; at starting and low speeds a belt 12 drives the blower shaft 16 from the crank-shaft through an over-running clutch, or an electric motor or auxiliary engine may be used.
