Abstract
Material for covering and filling teeth and making artificial teeth comprises cellulose derivatives together with insoluble inorganic substances, volatile organic solvents, and if desired softening agents and resins. The cellulose derivative may be cellulose acetate, nitrate, or butyrate, or benzyl cellulose or other cellulose ester or ether. The inorganic substance may be calcium phosphate, fluoride, carbonate, or silicate, and the organic solvent may be acetone with camphor, or other softening agent. For rendering the material visible under X-rays, strontium salts may be added. Other ingredients may be dyes, pigments, artificial or natural resins. The composition may be applied by a spatula or as a spray according to consistency. Coverings, fillings, or crowns may be obtained. The material may be extruded by means of compressed air or carbon dioxide and it may be smoothed off and dried by the heated gas. The extrusion device may have one or several containers for different compositions. The filling or crown may be covered by a composition which is free from or contains less inorganic filler, and thus provides a polished surface.ALSO:Material for covering and filling teeth and making artificial teeth comprises cellulose derivatives together with insoluble inorganic substances, volatile organic solvents, and if desired softening agents, resins, pigments, dyes, or strontium salts. The composition may be applied by a spatula or as a spray according to consistency. Coverings, fillings, or crowns may be obtained. The material may be extruded by means of compressed air or carbon dioxide and it may be smoothed off and dried by the heated gas. The extrusion device may have one or several containers for different compositions. The filling or crown may be covered by a composition which is free from or contains less inorganic filler, and thus provides a polished surface.
